This is another great set of Gouache paint! The metallics are sparkly and look beautiful in my watercolor paintings! The paint itself goes on smoothly and maintains its beautiful color when painted on watercolor paper...the same color as in the container. Each container has an associated lid that, when snapped on tightly, keeps the paint hydrated and ready for future use. A set of nine different metallic colors at this price is amazing! Painting with this type of paint takes some practice in that if your apply it too thick, it could start cracking, and if you get water on the already cured paint, it will rehydrate and appear as if you just applied the paint to the paper... Just things to know about when using Gouache Paint. The price is excellent and the results are beautiful!

This is a great starter set for your painting. You get a lot sample colors in their own container. Each one has the name printed on the top (be careful, it rubs off easily). Before you open there is a seal on each othe containers. I really love the sparkle of the metallic colors! My only concern is the lid comes off easily so make sure you put these in a safe place because if they fall, you will spill it and lose the gouache paint

The colors in this set are amazingly vibrant. My daughter is an artist and an Art Teacher and of course I asked for her a unbiased opinion. She loved them! There's a good amount of paint in the pots they come in and when we tested them on a regular piece of paper, they have great pigmentation. If you're looking for a great set of Gouache paint, do yourself a favor and try these out, you will love them, they are like cups of liquid jewels. Each pot of color comes with its individual lid to keep it from drying or spilling out.

You get A LOT of paint in this set. The cups are very large and have a lot in them. I like that the cups have individual lids for easy storage. You can see from the pics that it has a nice metallic sheen to it. The paint cleans up easily using just water. You can build up the coverage or you can put it on lightly so other colors show through.

I got this set for my art student daughter who loves working with gouache paints. She felt this set was thin, and wondered if it had too much binder in it. She did loved how vibrant, metallic, shiny and pigmented these were. She also appreciated the color variety in this set. She also really loved the quantity provided in the tubs as opposed to the tubes she’s used to working with. You have to be careful, as the lids pop off really easily. So if accidentally dropped, it could be a problem.

I found these Gouache paints to be well packaged with plastic snap-on lids that help to keep the unused paints fresher. Each tub is quite large (50 ml). I dabbed some of the paint onto an old watercolor exercise and found the shimmer to be really nice - not too glittery, but still noticeable. This gives watercolor such a pop, even when the color of the Gouache is very similar to the color of the surrounding watercolor. The only thing I didn't like was the worn-off color names on most of the tubs right out of the package. I know that I can tell a blue from a red just by looking through the clear plastic tub, but wish the names were still readable so I know which ones I like enough to reorder in the future. Guess I'll mark the lids with a sharpie. I lowered my rating by one star for the disappearing print on the labels.

I've worked with watercolor, acrylic, and oil paints, but this was my first time using gouache—and I was pleasantly surprised! These paints are highly pigmented and come in generous amounts, with each resealable container measuring approximately 2" in length, 1.5" in depth, and 1.5" in height. They offer more vibrancy than watercolor while remaining more fluid and responsive to water than acrylic or oil. The consistency is smooth, making them a joy to work with. These have quickly become my go-to paints for their versatility and quality!

The quality of these paints is good for gouache of this price point. They are buildable but the color stays true with a single layer. Gouache is more opaque than watercolor so there is a bit of a learning curve when using paints if this texture. I use the metallic paints for accents. This is a great set for beginners who are just learning how to manipulate this type of paint.

I don't have any other gouache paints to compare this set to, but I think you can have a lot of fun with these metallic colors. I thought they looked really good on black paper, and I plan on using these in a black paper art journal along with metallic pencils and pens. My photo didn't really capture the shine on these paints but the gold and copper, in particular, look really good. I will definitely be using the gold often.

I am impressed with the ArtWhale Gouache Paint Set. There are 9 vibrant and richly pigmented colors in the set. The metallic finish makes them unique and look amazing. I love that each color comes in a separate plastic can. It is sturdy and portable. Also, it helps to keep the paint fresh and ready to use. I found this set beginner-friendly as I am, but because of unique colors and finish, I can see it being great for experienced artists, too. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality and nice paint set.

This Gouache Paint Set is great! You get nine metallic colors in a generous amount. The colors are vivid & bright. They go on smoothly. Each color comes in its own container with a snap on lid that is quite secure. This paint can be rewet if left on a palette. Nice addition to a set of watercolor paints.

I got this paint set for my kid who is starting to use different style paints on projects. This is a great selection of colors and the quality seems quite nice. I like the options that you get and the color payoff is nice as well. Great beginners set for gouache paints.
