These are a very good cup gouache. It's one of my favorite type of paint so I've tried a few different brands and I'd say these are among the best. I found them to be creamy, easy to work with, nice and opaque for the most part. The color selection is great plus they mix quite well with each other. They also play well with the more expensive tube gouache. I got this particular set because the cups have lids. It's nice to have lids, as you can keep the ones you aren't using covered, but it doesn't make them portable as the lids just set on the cups and if they are tipped will leak out. I've found, also, that they pretty much need to be inside the large container when not in use as they tend to dry a tad bit because of the lack of seal on the individual lids. The large hold all container has a very good seal built into the lid and the catches are sturdy. I don't have the room for this ginormous and heavy case so I've put the colors I use into a clear plastic container' with a lid and that's working very well

Good value for money, I've found it takes too much time to pull out and use as compared to paints on a pallette, the guache itself is good quality from what I can tell. Good selection of colors. It's unlikely I'd ever use every paint in the container, definitely good for a few at a time and a glass pallette.

I love we get lids .the mauve color is so beautiful .I use them as a watercolor so they will last me for many years

It is bigger than I expected, and a lot of colors, worth the price you pay for. I also like this better than the other brands I owned previously because of the lids for each container. I am pleased with the product overall.

lots of paint, super nice sturdy case, paints and dries well, the little lids on the tubs of paint are very helpful in keeping the paint moist and the same jelly-like consistency

I watched soooo many gouache videos and couldnt decide. For weeks. I wanted to fall for himi but going by swatch videos I knew better and decided on tubes and put a set in my cart. AND THEN I caught Lindsey The Frugal Crafters video about these and bam by the end of her video purchased and on the way. I cant imagine having this without lids. Its very heavy. If you have RA or hand issues beware. Most of the cups the binder seperated and had to be mixed but I love how opaque they are. They are still messy even with lids but its fun.. Its missing a few essential colors for me but Im sure I could mix them. Im really happy to have them

The packaging of the gouache itself could have been better. The containers are difficult to access if it's placed on a table and the covers don't go on tightly. I also recommend that you do a swatch pallet of the colours before use and don't solely rely on the stickers that came with the set as the colours are not the same. The actual colours are richer and more vibrant. The gouache goes on smooth and the colours remain vibrant. I had fun using this set. Also there could have been 2 white instead of 1. All in all I still love the set.

Let's start with the fact that I am super impressed at the value of this set. I have been painting with gouache for years and it is not a cheap medium by any means. These come out to less than a dollar a color, so my expectations were low. Boy was I in for a great surprise! The colors in the tubs are vibrant and well saturated with pigment. The texture of the paint coming directly out of the tub is perfect to paint with. These act like actual gouache (not a cheap knockoff) which means they are opaque watercolor (what gouache is). This also means they are easy to dilute with water if desired, they quickly dry to a matte finish, and they are easy to mix. If you apply these paints very thick, they will indeed crack. This is not unusual for gouache as it is a brittle paint. If you want flexible paint, use acrylic. Gouache is also prone to cracking and flaking off if you paint it on a loose canvas or paper and roll it up. Not a flaw of this brand, just one of the characteristics of true gouache. Definitely looking forward to working with these paints more. Whether you are just starting to paint with gouache or are a seasoned painter, this is a great set to get!

My mom and I had a blast testing this Art Whale Artist's Gouache Paint Set with some of my own palette 🎨 knives plus a 12x16 canvas I'm also trying out today. I love how these 42 jelly types of water-based gouache paints allow you to paint texture easily on the canvas boards we were using, they stay in little peaks if you want them to I also love how the little tubs they come in the great case not only have individual lids and can each be removed or moved or refilled, but that they are all marked with color names. Plus they give you named colored stickers to affix, or for you to do your own swatch sheet, which is a nice touch. Since each tub of color is 50 ml, the whole thing is super heavy to carry. My dad was surprised, even. But the heavy plastic case is sturdy and well designed with two handles plus latches on all sides. Plus it has a foamy thing on the inside lid that helps keep your paints nice, I imagine. Another gouache set I had once didn't have the extra individual lids, so this is much nicer. I went through more than expected with some of the tubes for the beginning of my big painting today (see photo.) I can tell I'm going to be using this art medium a great deal and will forever be looking for more. ;) Made in PRC (China)

The gouche paint set is ideal for any artist. There are so many bright bold colors on this palette to work with. I love how the paimt colors are individually packaged with lids to keep the colors wet and creamy for a long periods of time This separate & packaging helps stop unexpected mixing during gouche painting, storage, or transportation. Each cup size has a generous amout of paint too. The paint has a matte finish after the gouache paint opaqueness dries. I love that the gouache paint set is a water-based paint that is safe and non-toxic. This is great for painting with my children. This paint has so many possibilities & craftyness potential. I love that it is all stored conveniently in a carrying case. The container lid snaps down well and can tightly lock for storing or for transport. This paint flows smoothly on the surface of whatever medium I'm using. We love mixing the colors and creating new hues. Excellent complete paint set with case. Giftable for any level of artist & Recommended highly.

This is a large set of wet gouache paint in sealed plastic cups. When used straight it is deeply pigmented and opaque. When adding water it also works well and achieves the typical gouache effect to become more translucent. It arrives with a firm plastic seal on each color so it does not dry out before it arrives to the buyer. I believe the way the carrying case closes with the foam will help make sure that the little plastic lids stay on the cup to prevent spilling. I will definitely keep this horizontal when storing. When handling the paint I note it stained my skin mildly but was gone in a few hours after regular daily living hand washing and doing household tasks. The little stickers are not a perfect color match but that is such a mild complaint I will not take any stars off.

My first thought opening this up was that when you pick up this set, it is really heavy. There is a lot of paint here! Next was that I wanted to open them all up and look at them and try them out. It really is a fun set to open up. I do a lot of online courses on art and art techniques, one of those courses is for learning gouache painting and so I got this set and it has been great to use. I think the colors provided are well thought out, I had everything I needed for my course. The colors are vibrant and easy to mix and they look great. Gouache painting is a lot like watercolor painting in that just a little goes a very long way—this set, with this amount of paint, will last me an extremely long time. For the price, this is a bargain, I would highly recommend this set!

This is a great gouache paint set for someone who goes through a lot of paint. Do not get this expecting it to be something you will want to carry around with you a lot. The case is huge and heavy, and I would think this would be better suited kept where you usually paint and stored on a flat surface. The tubs of paint are fairly large considering how they usually are in sets. There is a good selection of colors. I have not had a chance to use them much yet and will be saving them for when I have time for a larger project, but they seem comparable to other gouache paints I have tried in the past.

The thing that makes these jelly gouaches better than all the other on the market in a similar style is they have CAPS- each little jelly cup comes with a plastic, snapping hard lid that protects the gouache from drying out. This is a BIG DEAL because all the other jelly gouaches on the market (at the time of writing this) only come with plastic/film/foil tear off lids that cannot be replaced once opened. I really hope the other jelly gouache manufacturers, especially the ones with the smaller cups in a wider variety of colors, follow suit. Very happy with the quality of the paints, othwerise, but the caps are exceptional.

I was amazed at the size of this paint set and the individual colors are very generous. I was looking for gouache to do some painting with more vibrant colors and this fits the bill wonderfully. Used as you would watercolor there is a richness to the paint that you can easily control. I am very happy with the vibrancy I was able to attain. It's a huge palette of over 40 colors and the plastic case snaps securely for transport. There are holes in the bottom of the case to easily push out the cups for use and nice colored stickers for the snap-on lid of each one. I am thrilled with this and I highly recommend it for the value and the quality.

You know those crappy art boxes your relatives gave you as a kid? This kicks them all out of the water. Not only is the box heavy--there are clasps on all four sides!--each of the containers of paint are as well. I really like that they came with color name stickers, so I don't have to remember which blue looks like what, and the paint, while a small learning curve bc they aren't like watercolor exactly, is wonderful to work with. I would recommend to any artist in your life looking to expand their medium.

I've got 4 kids who all love doing art and this was a huge hit with all of them. Great variety of colors and the carrying case helps to keep all the paints organized. There is a good amount of colors and I anticipate that this will last us a long time.

This is my first time using this kind of paint so I have no idea about how it should look. All the colors are really vibrant and even the light ones are still very vibrant. The only bad thing I experienced with this beautiful set is how hard it is to open the seal from each paint. I really love that this brought stickers that tell you the colors inside the pot but I wish you would’ve told me where the stickers go. Another thing was that the plastic becomes a little difficult once you maneuver it to open and then you have to close it back up. But these are all very beautiful and I think it’s a great value for the price and quality..

This paints are great quality and can be used as typical paint, water colors and used with a painting knife… they pigment of the colors are amazing for the price point and the amount of paint you get is surprising (there’s a lot). Definitely a must for someone wanting to learn how how to play with learning different medium textures.

I had seen gouache painting really get popular so I wanted to give it a try so I was for sure up for giving this a try! I love it, you really get a great number of colors, and it's heavy so it really makes it feel like you are using some great quality products. The paint is vibrant, and it is true to color. Dries really fast and I have loved painting with these!

Amazing color range. Beautiful and sturdy case. I have to say beyond the colors, I am most geeked that the art supplies come in individual containers that resemble tubberware for Gouache paints. Super cute and I love the size of these Gouache paints, you definitely get a lot with this, Especially because you typically use a little bit and you couple with water so my excitement is through the roof.

his opaque version of water color paint (gouche) is fantastic. The carrying case is sturdy, the little boxes pop out easy by using the hole underneath. The paint inside is sealed until used. A lot of colors to choose from. Easily blends, smooth application and does not need to be dry to layer. Great buy for any artist.

Really awesome ! Love the covers on each paint ! It’s big and heavy but it’s a lot of pretty colors and a good amount of them! I see myself running the colors I need out of the container cause my desk isn’t big enough for it and my arms and paper and drink and snack to all fit together lol
